Shannon Vineyards are based in the Elgin Valley and rest beautifully on the banks of a river and at the feet of mountains. Apples and Pears are also farmed here and the apples were busy being picked as we toured the vineyards. James Downes spent time with us and did an interview. It felt like James was at one with his environment and spoke passionately during his interview. He knows it takes a lifetime to develop the craft he pursues although he also realises “You are only as good as your last vintage”.
Our favourite wine on tasting was the Shannon Vineyards Mount Bullet 2012.
